Sometimes it seems like I was born in the wrong era. I have been living in a ’70s state of mind lately where everything is vintage and less is more. I love the boyfriend denim feel and the high wasted vibes that wardrobed the ’70s. A trend so iconic, it made a comeback all these years later. I am forever a vintage baby, born in the ’90s, but living in the ’70s.

It has been too long since I have been able to actually sit down and gather my thoughts enough to write an article. Lately I have been very focused on the path to achieving my dreams that it has felt as if I did not have enough time to continue to pursue my other passion. Sometimes you have to put some things on hold in order to fully commit yourself to the task at hand. When it is something you really want, or something that you believe whole heartedly is meant to be, there is nothing you can do but to give it your all – all your attention, all your thoughts, all your time. And that is okay because at the end of the day, you know that if you give it everything you got and you believe, there is no way you will lose. And those passions that you for the meantime put on hold, will always stand beside you and continue to be there once you’ve done the possible and accomplished what it is you always wanted.

It is amazing to look back at how much things can change in only a short time. Thinking back to six months ago, I would have never imagined being as far as I am today and being this close to making my dreams a reality. I am so close, it is like I can touch it. But it is not just reaching that end goal that makes it worth while, it is also the small things along the way that make it so special. In the past six months, not only have I moved steps ahead in my path, but I have also met so many different and amazing people along the way. And these friendships and the unbelievable support they have bestowed on me is something that I will cherish forever. After all, I would be no where without their help, guidance, and belief in the same dreams they have for me. Not to mention the amazing opportunities and new discoveries that I was able to experience all with my number one supporter, my partner in all of this, my other half…my twin. Next week is going to be one of the biggest weeks of my life thus far and as nervous as I am, I have never felt more ready and more confident. I cannot wait to see what will be in store and to see how much more has changed in another six months. Wish me luck!

Lately I have been fascinated by the free spirited, wanderlust attitude of the bohemian life. There is so much appeal in this adventure seeking way of life that it is almost impossible to resist its allure. And why would you? This gypsy life is all about creative freedom and the motivation to be who you are and to do what you love without fear. I have always happily fallen prey to the notion that wandering and endless curiosity is good for the soul. Our job is to embrace the journey and whole heartedly open yourself up to the adventure that awaits. Most are lucky enough to go through this journey with people who share your lust for change and experience and I am fortunate enough to go through this wandering life with my twin sister and edgy gypsy soul.  I love how she always adds an air of confident edge to every concept we create.

Lust, need, want, possession… Life brings many desires and the mysteries of the unknown has an attraction difficult to deny. But with need and want, can often come the weight of potential failure. Of course most say, and often believe, that failure is not an option; but dare I ask, is it? When something evokes such a passion that comes from deep within, a passion spoken from the soul, the possibility of failure is not far behind for you now have more to lose. Maybe that is the appeal. Much like the stereotypical attraction a girl has for the bad boy apprehensive of commitment, we are also attracted to the need to possess the one thing hardest to attain, the achievement of your dream. After all, if it was easy and if it was predictable, would we want it? We seek the excitement and the suspense and we thrive when the going gets tough. That small glimmer of potential failure is the motivation and the appeal that keeps you interested. We cannot be afraid if we fall prey to the mysterious, seven letter word because maybe instead of failing, we are simply changing course. If one has the courage to claim their dreams and open themselves up to the risk of ‘failing’ then I believe you cannot fail. But then comes the question, how far are you willing to go…how much are you willing to compromise in your journey to achievement?

I think one of my favorite things about this crazy, wild journey that Ashley Nicole and I are on is to be able to witness before my very eyes how we grow and evolve with each and every article. I think the key to creating a memorable platform is to show originality and to inspire with every image. Each piece of an image and each article of clothing and jewelry is meant to evoke a feeling and to inspire. That is probably one of the most challenging, yet most important parts of creating your brand. And the best part is that the overall story can evolve, change, grow or expand to create so many fun and different short stories. Each with their own lead character and their own personality. What a fun world it is when you get to play so many different characters. I have to admit though that this is not something you can always do on your own. With out my twin and creative partner, I would not be where I am today. It is both of us combined that bring together different tastes and different concepts with the hopes of creating something not only cool, but inspiring. We are here to explore and inspire after all.

It was the find of this vintage Harley Davidson tank that inspired today’s look. We wanted to mix the modern style of the powerful winged liner and the chic, dominating body chain with this dated flea market find. We find inspiration all around us and sometimes even people inspire our story. When planning this concept and deciding how we wanted these images to look, it was the combination of Meghan Fox and the Victoria’s Secret angels that really hit home. Both with such beauty and both with their own unique sexiness, Ashley created this classically beautiful, futuristic look. We always love to mix different styles together and it was the combination of the precise, fine lined wing with the messy, yet sexy morning after, bed head bun that brought the whole look together. And just in time for bike week 2015.

Where to begin… So much has happened in this path month alone and I am so thankful for every blessing and opportunity that I have been fortunate enough to experience. This month started off with the walk of a lifetime as I was booked as a runway model for Wilmington Fashion Week 2015. What a wild world the fashion scene is. So much innovation, vision and creativity go into the production of such a fabulous event and I got to be center stage connecting the lovers of fashion with amazing local brands. It is an experience that I am going to cherish forever for it is also the event that started my modeling career. So many opportunities have come my way since I walked the runway and I cannot wait to see how far I can go. It is amazing to see that with a little faith, dedication and hard work, all your dreams can finally surface from moments of the night and reach the light of day as reality.

On a more personal note, Marie Nicole has a new head quarters! Ashley and I have just moved in to a place that we can finally call ours. Living almost beach side is not something I would have ever imagined years ago, but what could be better? Since moving to the coast, so much has changed. It is almost as if the salty atmosphere sparks the creative side in all who reside near the vast body of water that brings so much joy just to be near it. I feel it illuminates the idea of infinite possibilities and the notion that anything is possible. And as if that isn’t enough, the fashion speaks for itself. The set of images for this article were inspired by the free spirited and earthy vibes of the wanderlust life lived by most who reside water side. I love a good crochet top accessorized with chokers and body jewelry.

Why Mother Nature are you teasing us with warm sunny days fit for strappy dresses and bare shoulders? It is currently below 40 degrees here on the coast, but I kid you not, only two days ago, these images were taken on a hot, 75 degree day! I will never understand how in one night the weather can shift so dramatically. But I digress. This gorgeous maxi dress is my most recent purchase from a local Carolina boutique called Currents XXII and I am in love with it! I will admit, snake skin print is not my usual taste, but I was seduced by the elegant flow and whimsical silhouette of my most recent maxi. I wanted to add a little edge with a structured biker leather coat to fend off the chilling coast breeze. To say we are so ready for summer is the understatement of the century and these randomly welcomed warm days, just make us want it even more! Here’s to another salty aired and sandy summer on the coast.

Time keeps moving us on and everyday I am getting closer and closer to accomplishing my goals and reaching my dreams. My main project at the moment is preparing for my first runway show. It is still surreal to think that in one month, four short weeks, I will be walking front and center wearing gorgeous designs from bathing suits to bold apparel. This is such an amazing opportunity and I plan to take full advantage. And this is only the start. Many things are going to happen in 2015 and I am more motivated and inspired than ever. I am so thankful to be on this journey with my best friend, my other half, my twin. Together we stand…divided we fall.

When I crossed the state boarder to begin my life on the coast, I imagined nothing but heat filled, salty aired, sunny days. You can imagine my surprise when winter hit and it got so cold I barely wanted to leave the house. Then I thought…this is perfect! I can finally showcase my love for faux fur! Vests, coats, even scarves, I love them all. I recently purchased this coat fit for royalty from ASOS and I am in love. It really does have an air of  majesty, wouldn’t you say? When I styled this outfit, I was going for a more casual, earthy feel to match my salty haired, beach wave locks and my favorite distressed jeans were just the right pairing.
