For so long he tried to deny the unfaltering attachment he felt for her. Something he had no business trying to stop, for she exists only in his eyes. He’s felt a love for more than one in his lifetime, but there is only one that will break him, changing everything he thought he knew. And she is the one he should fear. For it is her, able to steal his heart in the most exquisite form of self destruction, filling his head with the poison of a love unlike any before. A poison so good, he takes it all, invincible to the loss others before him have felt. “For this,” he says, “is the real thing”.

A love written in the stars, their connection is too strong to be forsaken. Unable to control his need to have her, he embraces her with his whole heart, finally saying out loud what she could always hear through his eyes. They are together. Stumbling down a path they could never turn back from, they found each other alone in the darkness. The stars illuminate the black sky as their eyes lock, her wild heart always leading her to him, she needn’t see. His near presence overwhelms every part of her, awakening her soul. A chance meeting, but maybe by no chance at all.  ” I am yours,” he at last says to her. A golden rose is offered to her hand with the promise of a life that was once only lived out in their imagination, but now with the chance to become their reality. Together they step out in to the light for all to see. Their love. A love that transcends the end of time, never again to be forsworn. Nothing is meant to last forever. But love, true love is the one thing to live on, through a life past, to even after we are gone.

You spoke to my soul and I breathed in every word like it was oxygen that without it I would die. I drank you like you were the cure when maybe you were my poison. Try as I might to keep you out, you broke in to my heart and changed everything. I gave you the one thing I had that could destroy me. And you, my friend, are the person that can leave me broken. I know you feel it too. Silently aching for my touch, for my soul to again connect with yours as you pretend that you can live without us. I run away to my dreams for there is where we can be together.

Longing for her, every part of him desperately wanting to pull her closer as he continues to push her away in an effort to be a good man, he too runs to his dreams. Never able to fully give her up, his heart leads him to the place where they are to meet again. He opens his eyes in a world that houses every truth he can’t run from, to see her standing there illuminated by the stars they once stood under together. As hard as he tries, he can’t escape what he always knew. His need to be with her, to make her his and no one else’s, he is desperate to reach her. But she is slowly vanishing before his eyes. Her heart beat, that once matched his, grows softer as he watches his happiness slip away.

It’s been days since she has last seen him. Heard his voice. Felt his touch. He is gone. Left her to overcome a situation out of her control. A noble gesture to be the man he feels she deserves, but a broken heart, her heart, is left in his trails. A man she always suspected would never be hers, she fell anyway. He spoke to her soul and saw her for who she really is. He embraced and loved all and every part of her. Overcome with a want she has never before felt, she gave in to the idea that their love can overcome all odds against them. A love handcrafted in the dark, a secret song sung only through their eyes, the silence speaks, saying everything he never would. For to look in his eyes she could see, she was his and he was hers.

But a love made in a time that was not yet ready for it, how can they ever be together?  Are they doomed to only know the potential of a dream that seems so perfect, a true love written in the stars, but never to be read aloud? What a cruel fate for the universe to send someone who could be the love of their life at the wrong time. What a cruel man to deny them both the chance to experience an all consuming, breathtaking love only few are ever lucky enough to come across. I don’t want you to be good, I want you to put your mark on me so all who see, knows that I’m yours. I want to make you tremble and go mad at the thought that you may never have me. I want you, all or nothing. I hope you will one day have the courage to choose the life that takes you to the place where we are to meet again.

The sunset darkens. It feels so right he can’t help but welcome the starry night. A night unlike any, it offers a dream that leaves him breathless as the darkness surrounds his body. For at night is where they can be together. A special friendship stealing moments alone as time stands still. It is just the two of us. The silence is loud as their eyes meet saying what words can not, what he never would. Until. ‘For every star is how much I love you’, he says to her.

She comes to you. A past life coming to its tragic end. You are kind to her, care for her, show her the potential for a story unlike one she’s ever told. Frightened by such feelings not even I saw coming, he sneaks her into the darkness. What was once familiar now becomes distant as the letters of fate start writing its own pages. Her name will be the last to leave his lips, but a name that maybe never should have crossed them in the first place. A noble man promised to one, but with secret thoughts stolen by another. A hidden conversation heard by no one else, spoken only through a glance unbreakable. They seek solace in each other. But this story, her story, is left without an ending.

Nobody really knows what it is that they want. The future is as present as it is unknown. Every choice we make, every person we share stolen moments with, everything happening right now is creating something you may not even realize. I believe there is not just one future, but many, and all with the equal chance of life. Every memory you create has a future all its own. With so many choices and possibilities comes one fate that not even you can predict. You think you know what you want, but then one day, you look in her eyes and see something you never even knew you were looking for. I am going to be the one to dismantle everything you thought you knew, everything you thought you could live without. And it won’t be until it is right in front of you, walking away, that you see what it is you have always wanted. And just like that, everything you thought is no longer. She came in to your life and showed you what seems like a dream, something you never want to wake up from. Every stolen look is its own conversation, saying what you cannot say yourself. In those moments, the silence is loud and only heard by the two of you. Fate is now offering the potential for two like souls to maybe find true love together. But with three hearts all beating, craving to experience that one feeling only really shared by two and the butterflies, one heart will have to break.

I am writing to you today from the beautiful state of mountainy Colorado. What a change it is from the sandy shores of South Carolina, but both places are so inspiring and breath taking in their own unique way. Ashley Nicole and I both share the passion to travel. In fact, you can’t really keep us in one place for very long. We are hooked; and without our fix for something new, we can’t go on. Our trip to Colorado started off a bit rocky. With two destinations booked in one short week, we had to fit a lot of experience in to a very short time period. Our first day in Denver consisted of countless internet sites for carless lodging, two different hotels, and eventually a stroll through the vibrant and authentic streets of Downtown Denver, a place full of personality and life. It is always a good time in the city, especially when there is something new around every corner. If you want experience, take a walk through any and all cities. It will not disappoint. But like most free spirits and travel junkies, we also crave the complete 180.

So yesterday we travelled from the city to the Mountains and saw something so breath-takingly beautiful, you will have to see it to believe it. Vail, you truly are a heavenly place. The trip to get here however, was a little more due south. We woke up with the intentions of taking our first ride on the Greyhound bus lines, but were quickly caught in a road block when every seat turned out to be taken. The bus was full and we were not on it. So there we were, stuck in a bus station, suitcases in hand and no where to go. But nothing will keep us from our next experience. We found a way and it turned out working better than we could have expected. For without this small bump in our plans, we would not have gotten to experience the historic tour of the mountains and the mines or our first coffee stop at a local hole in the wall comfortably placed in the midst of a mountain. We have a few days left as city girls in the mountains, and rest assured, we do not plan to waste any of it. If I have learned anything so far, I would have to say that it is that there is no such thing as a wrong turn. Wherever you end up, is where you are meant to be, embrace it.
